The Works. Paris, at Charles de Sercy's, 1697. Two volumes in-12, red morocco, triple gilt fillet framing the plates, ornate spines, gilt lace framing on counterplate, gilt edges, folder, case. Two frontispiece titles engraved on copper by Le Doyen; headbands, lettering, fleurons and culs-de-lampe. Beautiful copy in morocco 19th century signed by Allô, decorated on the plates with the figures and arms of the Dauphin (one of the jewels on the two volumes). Ex-libris of the Victor Quénescourt library. First collective edition of the poet Benserade, Molière's rival, who was often commissioned to write the libretto for the court ballets of Louis XIII and Louis XIV.
