The Pastoral Loves of Daphnis and Chloe [...]. Double translation from Greek into French of Mr. AMIOT and an Anonime put in parallel. In Paris, Printed for the Curious, 1757. In-8° square, calf, triple gilt fillet framing the plates, smooth decorated spine, gilt edges, slipcase and folder (contemporary binding and pastiche folder). One title-frontispiece by COYPEL, 28 other figures by PHILIPPE [D'ORLÉANS], engraved by AUDRAN, four chapter headings by EISEN and four culs-de-lampe by COCHIN, all repeated face to face twice; ornamentation framing each page of text. This edition is based on the figures of the 1718 one, retouched and framed by FOkkE, and includes (pp. 162/163) THE FAMOUS FIGURE "AUx PEtItS PIEDS" in its new version. First bit split all the way through; some spots and freckles.
