A mahogany flap desk, opening to a drawer, two leaves and a - Lot 306
A mahogany flap desk, opening to a drawer, two leaves and a flap revealing five drawers and three compartments, top of black marble from Belgium. Iron mark in hollow HO crowned and CY numbered 12. Stamped Jean Antoine BRUNS on the lower leaf. Beginning of the 19th century. H. 142,5 W. 97,5 D. 42 cm Provenance : Probably Louis-Henri-Joseph de Bourbon (1756-1830), prince of Condé. Henri d'Orléans, duc d'Aumale (1822-1897) at the Château de Chantilly. This secretary belonged most probably to the furniture of the prince of Condé on his return from emigration in 1814, either at the Hôtel de Lassay in the Palais Bourbon in Paris or at the Petit Château in Chantilly. In any case, it was found in Chantilly after the sale of the Hôtel de Lassay by the Duc d'Aumale in 1843.
