Eight volumes in-4 (28,5x21,5 cm), blond calf of the period a little rubbed (upper cover of volume II abraded, small epidermure at the foot of volume IV and brown stain at the corner, small lacks at five corners), very ornate spine with nerves, triple filleting on the boards, roulettes on the edges, red speckled edges, burgundy morocco title-pieces. Portrait (some uniform foxing and one off-set booklet in volume I), general table of contents in the seven volumes and privilege in fine in volume VII. Volume VIII was published in 1730, with privilege, and bears the title "Anti-Baillet" or criticism of the book of Mr Baillet, entitled Jugemens des Savans by Mr (Gilles) MENAGE. A good copy. Bound with the arms of the duke of Neufville de Villeroy
