Colloniae (Cologne) Martinus, 1549; very small in-8 (17x11 cm), cold-stamped fawn calf (split bit all along first cover), ribbed spine, 15th-century manuscript vellum on back cover. (1f. blank annotated), title, 52 index pages and 782 pages (free of foxing), (1f. blank). Rare Louvain binding with the "Spes" Hope plate, signed IP (Jacob Pandelaert). The plate (a little faded) is decorated on both sides with a suppliant facing the storm; verses from the psalms of supplication are engraved around the edge of the plate.
