CALMET (Dom Augustin). Dictionnaire historique, critique, chronologique, géographique et littéral de la Bible, enrichi d'un grand nombre de figures en taille-douce. A Paris, chez Emery (père et fils), Saugrain, Pierre Martin 1722-1728. Four volumes in-folio (39x27 cm), contemporary calf, ornate ribbed spine (different for the 1722 and 1728 volumes, which are ornate with bird's-eye irons). Volume I (jaws cracked and headbands faded), Volume II (foot of 1st plate and headband missing, headbands faded), Volume III (headbands faded, headband split over 13 cm on 1st plate), Volume IV (headbands faded and headband missing, headband split over 6 cm on 1st plate). 207 hors-texte plates, including frontispiece and six maps in the first volume. Numerous double-page plates (some browned, marginal wormholes on 30 pages in volume II), handwritten bookplate on title pages of volumes III and IV (convent of the Capuchins of Saint Honoré) and a few notes in ink in the margins.
