[Madame de LA FAYETTE (Marie-Madeleine). Zayde, Spanish history, by Monsieur de Segrais. With a treatise on the origin of novels, by Monsieur Huet. According to the printed copy. A Paris [Hollande, Elzévier], 1671 two parts in one volume in-12 (16x11 cm), contemporary vellum (without the blank leaf and frontispiece by Romain de Hooghe). 67-154-164 pages (some foxing). Published under the name of Segrais (her secretary), this novel by Madame Lafayette was published in Paris by Bardin in 1670 for the first volume and 1671 for the second volume. Published the same year as this Elzévier edition. Reference: Tchémerzine, III, Rahir, 2489, Willems, 1861.
